Whole Roasted Cauliflower With Butter Sauce

Crisp and tender Whole Roasted Cauliflower With Butter Sauce is a beautiful dish to serve to guests but is easy enough to make as a side dish for many meals. It brings out the inherent sweetness of the mighty vegetable.

    TIME COOK: 25 min

    SERVING: 2 People

    Ingredients

    • 1 head of cauliflower

    • Fresh thyme

    • 2 bay leaves

    • 4 cups (1l) vegetable or chicken stock, more or less, depending on the size of the cauliflower

    • 1/3 cup (70)g melted butter

    • Fresh cracked pepper

    • Directions

      1. Turn on your oven to 400oF (200oC). It’s time to cut off the bottom of cauliflower. Remove all of the leaves and the stem, but don’t break them apart. Rinse it and pat it dry.

      2. Put the whole cauliflower in a pot, cover it with stock, and add fresh thyme and bay leaves. For 12 minutes, bring the water to a boil and then let it simmer for that long.

      3. Drain the cauliflower and put it in a pan that can go in the oven. Pour a little of the cooking stock over the cauliflower, then drizzle some melted butter on top of the cauliflower and serve. Sprinkle some fresh thyme and pepper on top.

If your cauliflower is small, roast it in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until it turns brown. Sprinkle some cooking juice on your food sometimes. It’s done if you can slide a knife in with ease. If you want to give it a little more color, you can broil it for an extra two minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

      5. Take it out of the oven and sprinkle it with fresh thyme. It’s time to slice and serve. Add a little more buttery cooking juices to the food.
      Enjoy!!
