ingredients Add to Shopping List 1 pound ground pork 1 pound ground beef 2 large eggs 1/4 cup breadcrumbs 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 1 to 2 garlic cloves, finely minced 1 small yellow onion (grated) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup pasta sauce (marinara sauce, homemade, meatless) 1/2 cup shredded cheese (Italian cheese blend)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside a loaf pan (I use a glass bread loaf pan) that has been lightly greased with cooking spray. Step 2 Mix the ground pork and beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, thyme, oregano, basil, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese in a large mixing basin. If you handle the mixture too much, it will become rough.
Step 3 Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Pasta sauce should be poured over the meatloaf. Step 4 Bake for 1 hour with a filled loaf pan on a baking sheet.
Step 5 At this point, remove the meatloaf from the oven and drain any grease from the meats.
Step 6 Finish by sprinkling the remaining shredded cheese on top.
Step 7 Return the meatloaf to the oven and continue to bake until the cheese has melted. Step 8 Take the meatloaf out of the oven and let it aside for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
