Salmon Patties, the old fashioned way So Easy

  • The old-fashioned way to make salmon patties So, here’s a rundown of what’s going on:

    The cooking time and temperature must be adhered to in order for the recipe to be successful. Before beginning the dish, the ingredients must to be thoroughly measured and prepped.

  • You will need :

    • flour

    • eggs

    • cans of Royal pink salmon

    • Italian Bread crumbs

    • cornmeal

    • yellow onion

    • green onion

    • spicy paprika

    • garlic salt

    • Lawry’s

    • coarse black pepper

    • oregano

    • Texas Pete hot sauce (optional)

    •  vegetable or canola oil

    • cast iron skillet

    • Ingredients

      1 tbsp flour
      2 eggs
      2 cans of Royal pink salmon (take off larger bones and darker skin)
      1 cup Italian Bread crumbs
      1 tbsp cornmeal
      1 half yellow onion/fine chop
      1 half green onion/rough chop
      spicy paprika
      garlic salt
      Lawry’s
      coarse black pepper
      oregano
      Texas Pete hot sauce (optional)
      3/4 cup of vegetable or canola oil (a lot of oil = greasy patties)
      cast iron skillet

      instructions

      In a large bowl, mix all ingredients.
      Season to your desired taste. Form into desired pattie size.
      Refrigerate for 20-30 mins.
      Heat skillet with oil at an appropriate temperature.
      Fry patties about 3-4 minutes per side depending on size.
      Garnish with parsley.

      I served these with some grits and eggs. They come always perfect. Sometimes I add a little bit of diced jalapenos for additional heat.
