Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix
3 tbsp plain flour
1 (3 Oz) box strawberry jello
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup oil, I used canola oil
2 cup fresh or frozen pureed strawberries (one cup for cake & one cup for icing)
4 eggs
Instructions:
Combine the cake mix, flour, Jello, and water in a mixing bowl. Add the oil and eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Strawberries should be added. 2 minutes of beating Pour batter into a 913 pan that has been greased and floured. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 45 minutes.
CREAM CHEESE ICING: adapted from a Paula Deen recipe found on the internet.
1 pound softened butter
1 8 oz. softened cream cheese package
1 cup pureed strawberries (frozen or fresh)
a third of a cup of powdered sugar
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and beat with an electric mixer until smooth. After the cake has cooled from the oven, pour the glaze over it. Serve with a garnish of a strawberry or pureed strawberries.
