Have you ever had something so wonderful that you couldn’t stop eating it? and something that you’re even more surprised you created. One of those recipes is this one. You’ll feel as if you’ve died and gone to heaven after making our BEST Meatball Boats.
16 frozen meatballs or homemade below
2 cups pasta sauce or marinara sauce
4 hoagie rolls
4 tablespoons garlic butter
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
Meatballs (or use frozen meatballs if preferred)
1 pound lean ground beef
½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
Prepare meatballs according to box directions or combine all meatball ingredients for handmade meatballs.
Place 1′′ balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 20 minutes, or until thoroughly done.
Cook covered for 10 minutes with prepared meatballs in a saucepan with pasta sauce.
Meanwhile, brush each roll with garlic butter. Preheat the broiler and broil the rolls for 3 minutes, or until brown.
In a 9×13 baking dish, arrange the rolls. In each bun, place four meatballs and a small amount of sauce and cheese.
Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted. If preferred, serve with more sauce for dipping.
